Rob not dating Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester

It’s the big romance rumour at the moment – is Rob really getting it on with Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester aka Blair Waldorf? The TV fashionista is single and back on the market having recently dumped her sometime co-star and boyfriend of two years, Sebastian Stan and some celebrity sites and magazines are linking her with Rob. The rumour began with In Touch Weekly who reported that Rob had been spotted entering Leighton’s New York apartment building and not leaving again until the next morning (the dirty stop-out!) along with talk of saucy sexting. However, these rumours have been shot down almost as quickly as they began.

Gossip Cop, a celebrity site which seeks to “bust bad dish” reports that their source close to Leighton has denied the rumours of a Rob romance. It’s the only denial so far, but will probably be the closest we get to any scoop on the alleged affair. Rob isn’t really in the business of opening up about his personal life (if not, I’m sure we’d have had some official word on the whole Kristen thing) and Leighton’s break-up with Sebastian was only reported on with indirect quotes (according to OK! Magazine, she “doesn’t know how to be in a relationship and doesn’t really like them.”)

But what would we make of it were it true? They’re both young and upcoming actors used to living life in the media glare, but could Edward really be right for Blair? And what about Kristen? I know there’s never been any sound confirmation of their relationship, but whether it’s romantic or not, they’re obviously close and mean a lot to each other. Ella is most definitely in the Rob and Leighton camp (Blair is her style guru and a Rob cameo on GG would rock!), but I’m a bit more on the fence. What do you reckon?
